Meet Julia

Hey, my name is Julia.
My yoga story begins in 2003.
After exhausting all other avenues to relieve severe back pain, I wandered into a yoga class. I never left.
I attended my first yoga teacher training in the fall of 2005 and opened the Satori Yoga Studio in January 2006.
I was blessed to study with the wellness industry leaders – Dr. Deepak Chopra, Sarah Powers, Bernie Clark, Judith Hanson Lasater, Thomas Myers and Susi Hately. Working with Susi marked the beginning of my career as a yoga therapist.
Years later, I met Neil Pearson, a physiotherapist and yoga therapist, at his Yoga For Chronic Pain workshop. “Humour me,” I thought when I signed up, believing I knew everything there was to know about yoga and pain.
That first short workshop turned my understanding of chronic pain upside down and gave me a glimmer of hope. Maybe I didn’t have to live with pain after all…
